The Keys to Crossing Over: Seeing Jesus Outside of the Manger

Sunday, December 25, 2011

Scriptures: Luke 2:1-12, 20-40, 41-52, 3:15-18, 21-22, John 1:14, 17, 11:25, 14:6, Jeremiah 29:11, Isaiah 55:8-11 (NLT) and Micah 5:2 (KJV)

The series “The Keys to Crossing Over” is an alternative approach to making New Year resolutions.  In anticipation of Christmas, the most highly anticipated day of the year, millions of believers will meticulously unwrap their gifts in anticipation of seeing its durability outside the box.

Its true gifts are given in celebration of and for the enhancement of another’s life. However, until the gift is seen outside of the box its intended purpose may never be achieved in their lives. Much like Jesus, who was a divine gift from God over 2,000 years ago to all mankind.  Perhaps, the reason why we repeatedly stumble and fall in certain areas of our lives is because we don’t see Jesus outside of the manger. When we see Him grown in stature, full of wisdom and divinely sent to accomplish God’s plans for our lives, victory is inevitable.

On Christmas Day choose to see Him beyond the peripheral view of the manger. In other words, see Him who was sent in truth and wisdom to nurture you from the manger areas of your life.

The Keys to Crossing Over: Seeing and Dreaming Outside the Box (Part 2)

Sunday, December 18, 2011

Scriptures: Gal. 6:7 (NKJV), Gen. 8:22 (NKJV/NLT) and 1 Kings 17:8-18 (MSG)

The series “The Key to Crossing Over” is an alternative approach to making New Year resolutions.  The Message Bible says “A man’s harvest in life depends entirely upon the seeds that he sows.”  In other words, “Your seed is what you sow; your expectation is why it multiplies.”

We are never without seed to produce a harvest when we sow like the farmer in expectation. You see, seed represents the future of a thing whether profitable or unprofitable. What type of seeds do you sow into your dreams?  How much time and effort do you spend cultivating your seeds?  Do you sow seeds for the benefit of others around you?

When we sow beyond what we see, it is faith that empowers the dream and ignites the law of seedtime and harvest.  In other words, if God has already promised to give seed to the sower the significance of what we sow will inevitably determine the quality of its fruition.

The Keys to Crossing Over: Learn to Hold Your Tongue

Sunday, December 04, 2011

Scriptures: Ps. 34:11-14, James 3:1-12, Prov. 16:24, 15:1-2, Gal. 2:20, Rom. 6:12-14, Luke 6:43-45 (NLT)

The series “The Key to Crossing Over” is an alternative approach to making New Year resolutions. Why cross over with an ill-equipped tongue, as oppose to speaking life and not death and calling "those things which be not, as though they were?"

Whether pessimistic, optimistic, curt, vile or even passive, words are the expression of one’s heart. Words are a direct view and insight into the life and mindset of an individual. If you want to know about someone, simply listen to their words. Although we should not only listen to the words of others, we should also listen for the mannerism in which we address others.

One of the most influential keys in crossing over is having a renewed mindset towards God about our tongue failures.  No matter how long the tongue has been untamed, God is willing to help us keep our tongue and lips from speaking evil and deceit.

You see, even when our failures outweigh our successes victory is still attainable. In other words, when we acknowledge the need for maturity and position ourselves to cross over by choosing to do what is right God inevitably will handle the result and receive the Glory!
