THE COST OF DISCIPLESHIP

Sunday, May 06, 2012

Scriptures:  Luke 9:57-62, Matthew 8:19-22, Luke 2:7, and 1 John 2:15-17

PONDER THIS . . . .

Have you ever genuinely thought about what Jesus require from us? It’s simple. Like in any other relationship, he requires total dedication and commitment; not half-hearted lip service. In other words, when we do not accept the cross and crown, we are being selective in our acceptance of the Gospel of Grace! You see, the authenticity of discipleship requires a willingness to abandon superficial securities in pursuit of a greater purpose. In short, the cost of becoming a disciple of Jesus Christ equates to an inward abandonment of self, absent the struggle!
