ACCOUNTABILITY: The Law of Solid Ground (Pt. 1 & 2)

Sunday, April 29, 2012

Scriptures:  John 4:34, 8:28, 14:10, Exodus 28, 29, 30:22-38, Leviticus 10:1-7, Acts 5:1-11, Colossians 3:23, 1 Peter 1:13-16, 2:9-12, Matthews 25:14-30, Romans 11:29, Gen. 3:8-19, 1 Samuel 13:8-14, 2 Samuel 12:1-4, Matthew 16:21-23 and Luke 16:1-12

In being honest with ourselves, we all have areas in our lives which demand a greater accountability. Since The Law of Solid Ground does not discriminate in the marketplace, citizenship, leadership or personal relationships, every human being will be held accountable to God for their lifestyle choices.

In order to flourish in the promises of God, you must acknowledge God’s standards regarding accountability. One must recognize that we have taken our liberties in Christ for granted absent being accountable for those rights. In other words, The Law of Solid Ground not only requires us to be responsible, liable and answerable for our actions, but to take ownership of the initial thought process which dictates the actions.

When Aaron’s sons Nadab and Abihu offered strange fire before the Lord they not only showed contempt for sacred things, but for Him who they were accountable. When we are committed to the things of God, our accountability is influenced by him; as oppose to man and flesh. You see, when godly accountability is afforded an opportunity to germinate within the heart of our minds, it no longer becomes an option, but a choice.

God has freely given each of us gifts, skills, resources and talents which must be used responsibly in ways that honor him.  The Law of Solid Ground is multifaceted because it encourages, positions, inspires and protects while evoking high standards, godly convictions, transparency and trustworthiness.  The lack of accountability will always cause us to operate independently of God (i.e. impatience, lack of foreknowledge, illegality, impulsivity and insensitivity), as well as hamper and stalemate our spiritual growth.

In retrospect, because of the efficiency of God’s Grace through The Law of Solid Ground we can intimately address truths about our actions and attitudes; self-examination of whether or not we’re habitually residing within the confines of God’s will.
